These shungite beads 8mm are made from genuine natural shungite sourced directly from Karelia, Russia. Each bead is individually cut and shaped from a solid piece of stone. This is not factory molding or pressed material, but true handcrafted work using natural mineral blocks.

Because of this process, bead sizes and shapes may vary slightly. Some beads may not be perfectly round, which is a natural result of hand cutting and working with raw stone. These variations highlight the authenticity of the material and confirm that every bead is unique.

Each bead measures approximately 8 mm in diameter, with a hole size of about 1 mm (0.04 inch). The surface is carefully polished, giving the beads a soft natural shine. With regular wear, the polished finish may gradually become matte due to contact with skin or clothing, creating an even more organic and natural appearance over time.

Natural Characteristics & Material Properties

Authentic shungite beads 8mm may contain visible inclusions of quartz and pyrite. White quartz and subtle golden pyrite flecks are natural components of shungite and form during geological processes deep within the stone. Their presence, variation, or absence is completely normal and should not be considered a flaw.

Shungite is known for its 100% electrical conductivity, a rare property for natural minerals. It is also fully hypoallergenic and contains more than 32% amorphous carbon, confirming its genuine origin.

Additional Information

In some cases, a small amount of natural shungite dust may remain inside the bead holes. Although each bead is thoroughly washed after production, light residue may still be present. If needed, simply rinse the beads under running water before assembling your jewelry.
