We have worked with shungite since 2018. Over the years, we have handled thousands of stones, learned how different types behave during cutting and polishing, and personally arranged laboratory analysis of the material at the geological institute in Petrozavodsk. Cut and Shaped from Solid Stone, Not Pressed in a Mold

Every pendant, pyramid, cube, and figurine in our shop begins as an individual fragment of natural shungite. Our craftsmen cut, shape, and polish each piece by hand, working around the density, inclusions, and natural fractures of that particular fragment. We do not use pressed shungite powder, resin binders, or black coloring to darken the stone. The color you see is the natural color of the mineral itself.

Not every product sold as shungite is made from genuine natural stone. Some sellers use pressed powder, resin, synthetic binders, dyes, or other artificial components to create molded products that resemble shungite but are not solid natural shungite. These imitations may look convincing in photographs and often appear nearly identical because they are produced in the same molds.

We do not use pressed resin, synthetic fillers, or coloring agents in our carved shungite products. Our pieces are cut, shaped, and polished from solid natural stone, preserving the material’s natural structure, mineral inclusions, texture, and individual surface characteristics.

Natural Variations Make Each Piece Unique

No two natural fragments of shungite are exactly alike. Size, weight, surface texture, and patterns formed by natural quartz or pyrite inclusions vary from one piece to another. These differences are not manufacturing flaws. They are the normal result of working with real stone instead of a standardized mold.

The piece you receive has its own weight, texture, and mineral pattern. It was shaped from a single fragment rather than pulled from a production line, so it will never be exactly identical to another. For many of our customers, that natural individuality is precisely why they choose genuine stone over a manufactured copy.

Certified Origin from Karelia

The shungite used for our products comes from Karelia, Russia, home to the only large scale, industrially developed shungite deposit in the world. Its identity and composition have been examined through laboratory analysis carried out at the Institute of Geology of the Karelian Research Centre, Russian Academy of Sciences, in Petrozavodsk.

The documentation records the mineral composition and carbon content of the analyzed material and supports its identification as genuine shungite. It is the shungite material itself, not every finished design as a separate manufactured item, that has been tested and documented in this way.

Tradition and a Personal Connection

Shungite has a long history in Karelia and was used by local communities long before its composition was studied in a laboratory. Tradition associates the stone with grounding and inner balance, and many people who choose shungite jewelry or home pieces find these associations personally meaningful. These are cultural beliefs and personal experiences, not medical claims, and we present them as such.

Each natural piece has its own weight, texture, and pattern because it was shaped from a single fragment of stone. That physical individuality is one reason people often feel a stronger personal connection to natural stone than to a mass produced object.

What Makes Shungite Unusual

Shungite is an ancient, carbon rich natural material formed roughly two billion years ago and associated almost exclusively with Karelia. Its high carbon content gives it a property that is unusual among natural decorative stones: measurable electrical conductivity. Scientific research has also examined the physical and electromagnetic characteristics of shungite, including its interaction with high frequency radiation.

These studies describe the properties of the material under specific test conditions. We do not claim that a particular pendant, bracelet, pyramid, or plate changes measurable exposure in your home, treats any condition, or guarantees a specific result.
